I picked up this random manga from Kinokuniya Bookstore while I was in New York to force myself to learn/study by translating this cover to cover.

Because, I just nerded the fuck out while working…and it’s the only thing I can think of when I look at that button.

HATARAKI MAN! (me this week)
ラピュタ [Castle in the Sky]
Why did it take me so long to see this movie? We went to see it in the theater last night and I fell completely in love with it.
A new gift! This is the first anime I’ve owned a physical copy of in years!! Yay!

ブラック★ロックシューター [Black Rock Shooter]
I finally found out what that toy I’ve been wanting is based on…at least it’s not a terribly long series this time! Watch the full OVA right here (it’s about an hour long):
this is probably the most idiotic anime I’ve watched, but I can’t stop…
OMG! That’s the only thing I ever look for when I am looking at the stars! I found the triangle years ago when I was lying on my friend’s rooftop (I would always sneak off and hide) and it has this special place in my heart. I never knew or cared to find out if it belongs to some greater constellation or anything; it’s just my self-important trio of stars. I even recreated it on the ceiling in my old teenage bedroom at my parents’ house (it’s still there). Seeing this randomly in a Zelda manga (of all places!) so many years later warms my heart and gives it even greater significance in my life.
I did proclaim that I was going to marry Link when I grew up. I was like, what, 7? I can’t remember when we actually got the Nintendo. I think I got it for a good report card award…haha. (Ohshit! I just Googled when Zelda was officially released to verify…and it was the day before my birthday in 1987!)
Also, I can’t even explain how beautiful the stars are out here. They’re so crisp and bright! On clear nights, I walk home staring straight up at the sky and hope I don’t run into anything.
